Brooklyn Park Man’s Strategy Pays Off with a $40,000 Keno Win

Brooklyn Park resident Kevin Wilson, and his wife Katherine, were “shocked” when he won $40,000 playing Keno.

Anne Arundel County resident used the Super Bonus to win big on 8-spot game

Kevin Wilson is a seasoned Keno player that likes to study the patterns of the game, and then play numbers that have been frequently drawn. Earlier this week, the Brooklyn Park winner took home a $40,000 prize after matching all eight of his numbers.

The loyal player did not watch the live drawing on the Nov. 25 game. When he scanned his ticket, he received a “Go to Lottery” message. He immediately went up to the counter and asked the store clerk to check the ticket on his terminal. He was “shocked” when it was revealed he was a $40,000 winner.

“It was amazing. I thought I must have been dreaming,” Kevin said.

According to the Anne Arundel County resident, he won $10,000 on another 8-spot game of Keno a few years ago. This time, though, Kevin added the Super Bonus to his ticket. The Super Bonus was a four, so he quadrupled his winnings to $40,000. He plans to use his prize to pay off bills and share the rest with his wife, Katherine.

The Washington Commanders employee explained that he watches Keno games and observes numbers that are drawn more frequently than others. Although he sometimes plays the eight numbers that produced the $40,000 prize, he doesn’t play every Keno game. He said he was fortunate that he happened to purchase a ticket for a game that provided all of his lucky numbers.

“I was at the right place at the right time,” Kevin said with a smile.

Chesapeake Liquors, located at 6720-C Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie, was also in the right place at the right time as they sold Kevin the ticket. The Anne Arundel County retailer receives a Lottery bonus of $400, equal to 1% of the prize, for selling a winning Keno ticket of $10,000 or more.
