Third-tier ticket worth $10,000 sold in Silver Spring
Two Maryland Lottery players woke up a little happier today as they both matched five numbers in different ways in the Oct. 15 Mega Millions drawing, resulting in a $1 million win in Brooklyn Park and a $10,000 win in Silver Spring.
The numbers drawn were 22, 34, 44, 54, 62 with a Mega Ball of 03. The player in Brooklyn Park — who bought the $1 million ticket at the Check Cash Depot at 8 16th Avenue — matched the first five balls but not the Mega Ball for a second-tier win.
The $10,000 third-tier win in Silver Spring came on a ticket purchased at Briggs Chaney Deli, 13832 Outlet Drive, and was the result of matching four of the first five balls drawn, plus the Mega Ball.
The two winners have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim the prizes.
Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the backs of winning tickets immediately and keep those tickets secure until arrangements to claim have been made.
Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at the cashier window of any of the six casinos in Maryland. More information on claiming prizes at other levels is available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website.
There were no jackpot winners in the Oct. 15 drawing, but Maryland had 13,331 winners of prizes from $2 to $1 million. The jackpot rolled again to an estimated jackpot annuity of $185 million in the Oct. 18 drawing with an estimated cash option of $88.4 million.
The estimated jackpot for tonight’s Powerball drawing is $408 million, with a cash option of $196.3 million.
