A Maryland Lottery enthusiast from Burtonsville anticipates sinking his most recent $50,000 Money Bags scratch-off win into his house as “the stock market’s not so good these days.”
Proceeds from Money Bags second-tier prize goes toward winner’s house
When a Montgomery County man won twice before, once for $10,000 and once for $50,000, he invested his Lottery prizes in the stock market. The Burtonsville resident has different plans for his third big win, a $50,000 prize claimed Feb. 27 on the $10 Money Bags game.
“This time, it’s going into my house. The stock market’s not so good these days,” he said.
The winner, who celebrated with a photo using the nickname “Bag of the Money,” bought the $10 scratch-off at Sagar Beer and Wine at 615 South Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg. Upon scratching off his instant ticket and realizing he had won again, the loyal player recalls feeling extremely happy.
His previous $50,000 score came in mid-March of 2023 on the game $50,000 Cash.
The winner is staying quiet about his Lottery luck, sharing the news only with family members. For the next few weeks, he says he plans to abstain from playing Lottery games but then will ease back into his fun hobby. In addition to playing scratch-offs, the lucky player also enjoys Racetrax.
He won the first of four $50,000 second-tier prizes available in this game, which went on sale in February. All five of the $250,000 top prizes are awaiting discovery, along with 24 $10,000 prizes and others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
