Player claims $50,000 top prize on $ instant ticket
A Baltimore County woman makes it a point to grab a scratch-off whenever she stops at a store that sells Lottery games. Recently, the business owner found herself at the grocery shopping for Easter dinner. Not only did she leave with the needed ingredients for the meal, she also found the recipe for a high-dollar Lottery prize, thanks to a top-prize winning $ scratch-off worth $50,000.
The lucky woman bought her $5 instant ticket at Giant #2304 in Nottingham.
It wasn’t until she reached home later that day that she scratched off her instant ticket. The play area showed a match between one of the winning numbers and her number selections for a corresponding $50,000 top prize. The scratch-off player was able to confirm that her instant ticket was a winner by scanning it using the Maryland Lottery app.
A resident of a small town north of Nottingham, the winner has owned a tow-truck company for almost 30 years. She plans to use her prize to pay bills. Giant #2304, located at 8905 Belair Road in Nottingham, will collect a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off worth $50,000.
The $ scratch-off went on sale in December with eight $50,000 top prizes; three remain. There are also seven $5,000 prizes and others ranging from $5 to $1,000.
