Nikoy Woods of Nottingham is the first $30,000 winner on Diamond Bingo
CCBC Essex attendee won top prize on Diamond Bingo scratch-off
Nottingham resident Nikoy Woods was at a grocery store purchasing another item and decided to buy a $3 Diamond Bingo scratch-off.
It was a good investment as the 19-year-old left the store with the top prize of $30,000.
Nikoy, whose eyes lit up when it was revealed that the ticket was a winner, hid all emotions after the win.
“I tried to keep it to myself. I didn’t want anyone in the store to know that I won,” Nikoy explained.
The Baltimore County resident is a student at Community College of Baltimore County – Essex and said all the winnings will go towards education. The winner is a Mortuary Science major and has other plans at the community college.
“I am going to try out for the basketball team,” said the excited winner.
The lucky retailer who sold the ticket, Hye’s Grocery store at 2819 East Madison Street in Baltimore City, wins too. The retailer will receive a $300 bonus for selling the top-prize winning ticket.
The 4th edition of Diamond Bingo began on June 19, 2023 and this is the first top-prize winner of $30,000. Six top prizes remain along with prizes ranging from $3 to $1,000.
