Baltimore man finds top prize on Money Money Money scratch-off
A loyal fan who has bought Maryland Lottery games since they first went on sale more than 50 years ago just claimed a $50,000 top prize on a Money Money Money scratch-off. The Baltimore winner, who chose to remain anonymous, selected the nickname “L.T.” to share the story of his good fortune.
“L.T.” has won smaller prizes in the past but never a top prize — until now. On the day he purchased his winning scratch-off, the loyal player followed his usual routine and bought two of the Money Money Money instant tickets at a Baltimore Lottery retailer. He scratched them off in the business and scanned them onsite.
“The first ticket read ‘Non-winner,’ and then I scratched the second one,” he recalled. “When it read ‘Winner, $50,000,’ my first reaction was, ‘Is this real?’” He immediately verified his win with an employee of Lottery retailer Billiards Plus.
Overwhelmed with excitement, “L.T.” rushed home to share the news with his daughters. While he’s kept the win under wraps since, the happy dad shared his plans for the prize. “L.T.” will first pay some health-related bills and split any remaining funds among his daughters.
“L.T.’s” win wasn’t the only good news that day. Also celebrating his win is his lucky Lottery retailer. Billiards Plus located at 8140 Liberty Road in Baltimore County will receive a $500 Lottery bonus — 1% of the prize — for selling a top-prize winning instant ticket.
