Discovers second top prize in Holiday Luck Doubler game
A loyal Lottery player from Baltimore County likes to play scratch-offs with second-chance promotions, so he decided to purchase a Holiday Luck Doubler instant ticket from Quick Mart in Dundalk.
He has a routine he likes to follow when playing the Lottery, and that includes not scratching the ticket in the store. “I take my tickets home and put them in the drawer,” he explained.
When he later played the $5 scratch-off, the Dundalk resident was stunned. “I scanned it five times with my phone,” he said, and the message came back the same again and again on the Lottery smartphone app. He won the game’s $50,000 top prize.
“I always thought I would be in this room eventually,” he said while enjoying his first visit to the Winner’s Circle at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
He only shared news of his big win with his significant other and plans to keep the prize a secret. As for the $50,000 windfall, the scratch-off fan plans to pay bills and spend some of the merry moolah celebrating the holidays.
While the player has won prizes in numerous second-chance promotions over the years, this $50,000 cash prize is his biggest to date. He is a big fan of both the Contestant of the Game and Ravens second-chance promotions.
The Holiday Luck Doubler game went on sale in October and has four more of its $50,000 top prizes awaiting discovery. This scratch-off is packed with prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000 and is one of six festive scratch-offs and three holiday FAST PLAY games eligible for the Holiday Cash second-chance promotion. The Maryland Lottery is offering a Holiday Cash Second-Chance Promotion that gives players the chance to win $5,000 to $100,000 in weekly drawings. To qualify, they enter non-winning holiday scratch-offs and winning and non-winning holiday FAST PLAY tickets into their My Lottery Rewards account.
Also a winner is the Baltimore County retailer that sold the lucky ticket. Quick Mart at 2020 Merritt Boulevard in Dundalk will receive a $500 Lottery bonus for selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.
