Eastern Shore Scratch-off Player Wins Big Again

Claims $50,000 prize playing 50 Years! scratch-off game

Six years ago, it was $100,000. Three years ago, it was $10,000. This week, it was $50,000. All three big-money prizes were won via scratch-offs, and all three by the same player. “I’ve been pretty lucky with these things,” she announced with a smile.

The Talbot County resident arrived at Lottery headquarters with an instant ticket that she splurged on as a reward for several recent wins. “50 Years! is a $50 ticket, so it’s not one I play too often,” the daily scratch-off player told Lottery officials. “But when I do buy them, I’ve usually done pretty well.”

The $50,000 prize she found is the sixth and final of the game’s third-tier winners. Still available are one $5 million top-prize, a $100,000 second-tier prize, nine $10,000 prizes and others ranging from $50 to $1,000.

“I went into the store with a $1,000 winner and two $500s to cash,” the winner said. In celebration of her recent luck, she picked out the 50 Years! game. “I scratched the ticket there in the store and knew immediately it was a big winner,” the Eastern Shore woman explained.  “I was so excited. I called my best friend to share the news but it didn’t seem like that big a deal to her.” Turns out that her best friend had gotten that call from her a time or two before.

The One Stop convenience store at 32227 Queen Anne Highway in Queen Anne sold her the $50,000-winning 50 Years! scratch-off. Our winner plans to dedicate her most recent scratch-off prize to a new vehicle.
