Delaware resident plans to use the money to help family members
A 72-year-old Maryland Lottery player won a FAST PLAY Payday progressive jackpot with only a quick $5 play! The seventh progressive jackpot in the Payday game is now in the hands of “Family Man” and he sure is happy about it.
The Delaware resident’s win was as simple as stopping at the Corner Market in Delmar, picking up a few items and then paying $5 for a chance to win fast. He claimed the $94,898 prize last week at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. What are his plans for his prize?
“I immediately thought of putting smiles on my family’s faces,” “Family Man” said in true family man fashion. “My kids and grandkids need a little something to help them during these difficult times.”
Also celebrating is Lottery retailer Corner Market. The Eastern Shore convenience store located at 1 South Bi-State Boulevard in Wicomico County earns a bonus from the Lottery of $948.98 for its sale of the jackpot-winning ticket. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize.
FAST PLAY games are like scratch-offs, without the scratching. Payday is one of 15 FAST PLAY games and went on sale in June 2020. There are still 13 progressive jackpots remaining in the Payday game and 16 ways to win with this ticket.
