He selected $20 instant ticket for her because of its pink color
Their journey to a $50,000 Lottery scratch-off win that day was short and exciting, according to the anonymous player who joined his friend in the Winner’s Circle at Lottery headquarters. The player bought a specific $20 scratch-off for his Glen Burnie friend because of its color.
“I got off work and was on the way home when we stopped in and played the (Lottery) machine,” he said. A fan of a variety of Lottery games, he bought only one instant ticket — the pink Millionaire’s Club scratch-off – at the Glen Burnie 7-Eleven but that was the only one he and his friend needed.
They scratched off the ticket in their vehicle. In the second row of the play area, they saw they matched the winning number of 57 to score the game’s second-tier prize. “I saw it was $50,000 and yelled and screamed a little bit,” the player said, laughing. Luckily, the parking lot was fairly empty and no one noticed their celebration.
The winner put the lucky Millionaire’s Club scratch-off in a safe when she got home until she could claim the prize this week. She is still considering plans for the prize and the pair are keeping news of the big win a secret.
The happy Anne Arundel County woman won the first of the game’s six $50,000 second-tier prizes. There are still three of the five $1 million top prizes remaining, along with seven $10,000 prizes and others ranging from $20 to $5,000.
