This lucky Hagerstown man won $37,616 on a FAST PLAY Slingo® ticket.
Washington County resident is third jackpot winner on FAST PLAY Slingo® game
A Hagerstown man had a roller coaster of a week that ended on a positive note when he won $37,616 on a FAST PLAY Slingo® ticket.
The anonymous winner, who nicknamed himself “Man, Myth, Legend” for Lottery publicity, said his story began when he won $3 on a scratch-off. He took that money and purchased his lucky $3 ticket at JRJ Liquors in Hagerstown.
The Slingo game has a progressive jackpot, which increases in size with the purchase of each ticket until a progressive jackpot-winning ticket is sold. When the Washington County man scanned the ticket, he saw the message “Go to Lottery.”
“At first, I thought I won $20,” he said.
Unsure of the size of his prize, he looked closely at his ticket and matched his Slingo numbers with the Slingo grid. “Man, Myth, Legend” realized he had matched all of the numbers in the grid to win the $37,616 progressive jackpot prize.
“I put the ticket in my pocket and left the store quietly,” he said.
“Man, Myth, Legend,” who works for a utility company, said he had a tough week at work but this jackpot win helped him end the week with a smile. The 35-year-old likes to spend time with his kids and plans to put his prize in the bank.
“I was at the right place at the right time,” he said of his Lottery luck.
The right place and the right time for “Man, Myth, Legend” was at JRJ Liquors when he purchased his winning ticket on Saturday, Nov. 4. For selling the winning ticket, the Washington County retailer at 929 Pennsylvania Avenue will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery.
This is the third Slingo® progressive jackpot winner since the game went on sale on Feb. 6, 2023. Twelve progressive jackpots remain unclaimed along with prizes ranging from $3 to $1,000.
