Upper Marlboro woman claims top prize in Multiplier Money game
Moving into a new home was especially memorable for a Prince George’s County woman last weekend, even before she won $50,000 playing a Multiplier Money scratch-off.
“We moved in on Saturday, and my mom was there to help us,” the federal employee explained to Lottery officials. “It meant so much to me that she could be there, to see my first new house. Plus, she brought me a few scratch tickets to help celebrate.”
Included in the generous gift was the $5 Multiplier Money game that, on Mother’s Day the next day, revealed its big prize and locked in the weekend as one never to be forgotten.
The Upper Marlboro resident recently returned to her native Maryland after many years away while serving in the U.S. Navy. She shared that she didn’t believe her eyes when she first revealed the match that gave her a top-prize win.
“I just stared at the ticket for a while and then asked my husband to check it,” said the 46-year-old. “What a blessing!”
Our winner plans to share her prize with family members and friends in need. She will also set some funds aside for a family vacation “and, of course, something very special for my mom.”
This $50,000 win captures the eighth and final top prize available with the Multiplier Money scratch-off, which first hit retailer shelves last July. The game is still packed with prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000.
An important player in this happy story is Boost Mobile at 3419 Clifton Avenue in Baltimore. The Lottery retailer that sold the lucky scratch-off earned a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning instant ticket.
