Howard County Winner Scores Big on Gold Rush 777 Scratch-Off

Occasional Lottery player chooses right time to play, wins $50,000

A college student from Elkridge doesn’t find himself playing the Lottery very often, but he sure is glad he decided to recently play since that led to a $50,000 payday.

The student, majoring in Information Technology, stopped at the Arundel Mills Exxon at 7043 Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover. He told Lottery officials that he frequently passes by the location, and decided he would try his luck. While still in the store, he scratched his ticket and revealed quite a few matching numbers. After double-checking what he thought he saw, and having the store clerk confirm it, it finally sunk in that he won $50,000.

The happy winner, who chose to keep the win quiet, enjoys playing basketball, eating good food and spending time with family.

Gold Rush 777 launched back in May 2024. There are still more than 300,000 prizes remaining on this ticket, including two $1 million top prizes and two $50,000 prizes.
