Win leaves single top prize unclaimed in Money Explosion game
An enthusiastic player from Hyattsville scored a $1 million top-prize win on the Money Explosion scratch-off, claiming his prize Dec. 9 at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
He bought the winning scratch-off at Lewisdale Market in Hyattsville. His lucky score leaves only a single top prize unclaimed in the $20 game.
Asked how he planned to spend the newfound fortune, the Prince George’s County resident said he’d have to think about it. A celebration with family and close friends, however, is on the horizon. He has won previous prizes playing Lottery games, but the biggest scores were in the range of a few hundred dollars.
He most assuredly plans to keep on playing, said the happy winner.
Also happy about selling a $1 million top-prize winning scratch-off is his lucky Prince George’s County retailer. Lewisdale Market located at 7701 23rd Avenue earns a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for its role in the big win.
Two of the game’s original eight $50,000 second-tier prizes remained unclaimed as of Dec. 9, along with 28 $10,000 prizes and 44 $5,000 prizes. The Money Explosion scratch-off is one of six active $20 instant tickets available for purchase.
