“Pizza Man” of Laurel attributes his success in business and his recent $100,000 scratch-off win to his confident attitude.
Player anticipates success in new pizza business, a second big Lottery win
A player from Laurel credits self-confidence with his successes in life and his recent $100,000 scratch-off win. That self-confidence, he says, will fuel his return to Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim an even bigger prize than his top-prize win on a WILLY WONKA GOLDENT TICKET™ scratch-off.
“I’ll be back soon. I have confidence,” he said. “I’m hoping to win $1 million next time.”
The 50-year-old Lottery enthusiast runs a cleaning business and is in the process of opening two Ledo Pizza franchise locations in Washington, D.C. “Pizza Man,” as the anonymous winner nicknamed himself, plans to plow his prize into his business ventures.
“Pizza Man” won his big score on one of two instant tickets he bought at the Jessup Shell gas station. He says he believes the location to be lucky, and frequently gets his Lottery games there.
On the day of his big win, “Pizza Man” put one of the $10 WILLY WONKA GOLDEN TICKET™ games in his pocket and scratched the other game at the gas station. He re-enacted the widening of his eyes in telling the tale of realizing he had won a top prize. “Pizza Man” has mainly kept the story of his Lottery luck to himself.
Jessup Shell, located at 8755 Washington Boulevard in Jessup, picks up a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling a $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.

Players can also look for 34 $10,000 prizes as well as enter non-winning scratch-offs into the Everlasting Million Second-Chance Promotion. They get a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas and, while there, the chance to win a lifetime prize of $1 million a year. Entry deadlines are July 26, Aug. 16 and Sept. 6. Get details HERE.
