Glen Burnie resident has successful year filled with wins
A Glen Burnie resident, who has had a streak of Lottery success recently, stopped by Maryland Lottery headquarters to claim her latest prize: a Racetrax win worth $27,148.50. The longtime player, who has chosen to remain anonymous, shared highlights of her 25-year Lottery journey, which has brought her both excitement and good fortune.
The winner and her husband have been dedicated Lottery players for more than two decades, enjoying a mix of small wins and major surprises. One of their most memorable prizes was a second-chance win that included an all-expenses-paid trip. This latest Racetrax victory adds another chapter to their Lottery success story.
The winning moment came during a routine trip to the store one evening when she picked up a soda and a few Lottery tickets. “I got home, scanned the ticket and couldn’t believe it,” she said. “I jumped out of bed and screamed!”
The couple celebrated the win together, and when asked about plans for the prize money, the winner revealed practical intentions: “I’m going to pay some bills.”
The retailer responsible for selling the winning ticket, Wawa at 8300 Veterans Highway in Millersville, will also enjoy a share of the celebration. They will receive a $400 bonus from the Lottery.
