Lottery Play Adds up to $50,000 Prize for Montgomery Village Woman

Finds big win on $20 Gold Rush 777 game

Montgomery County resident aptly used her math skills to add up the 25 prizes that resulted in a $50,000 win on the $20 Gold Rush 777 scratch-off.

“I couldn’t believe it. I was very happy,” said the lucky winner.

The Montgomery Village woman said she likes to purchase instant tickets at the store and then bring them home to scratch off when it is quiet in the house. She certainly needed some quiet time to play her Gold Rush 777 game because she didn’t instantly match one prize. She found multiple prizes on her scratch-off, which she added up quickly.

There were two prizes of $10,000, three prizes of $5,000, 14 $1,000 prizes, one $500 prize and five prizes of $100. That resulted in a total of $50,000.

“I showed my husband and he couldn’t believe his eyes,” she said.

“I was shocked, too,” added her husband, who joined his lucky wife at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.

The loyal player said she is still trying to process the fact of her big win and is currently undecided on how to spend the prize. She bought the instant ticket at Rodman’s Discount Store in Silver Spring, located at 4301 Randolph Road.

The Montgomery Village player is the second $50,000 second-tier winner on Gold Rush 777, with four prizes still unclaimed. There are three of four top prizes of $1,000,000 still available. An Anne Arundel County mechanic claimed the first $1,000,000 prize in May.
