A Washington D.C. resident “goes big” and “goes home” a $50,000 scratch-off winner.
Claims $50,000 top prize on Gold X20 game
A Washington, D.C. woman who likes to live life to the fullest gave herself the nickname “Go Big or Go Home” after claiming her $50,000 scratch-off prize. The nurse made the trip into Maryland to purchase a Gold X20 scratch-off and became a top-prize winner.
“Go Big or Go Home” was home alone when she found out she won a prize on the $5 scratch-off. She matched four winning numbers for a total prize of $30,000 but then revealed a block on the scratch-off marked 20X $1,000. Uncertain of the size of the prize, she went to another Lottery retailer.
“I had to go out and find out what I won,” she said with excitement.
The lucky winner has played Lottery games in Maryland and elsewhere for decades. In addition to scratch-offs, she likes to play Pick 4, Pick 5 and Racetrax. “I won $20,000 with the D.C. Lottery a few years ago,” said “Go Big or Go Home.”
The 62-year-old plans to pay bills with her $50,000 top-prize win.
Selling her lucky instant ticket was Meadows Market & Restaurant in Upper Marlboro. For selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off, the Prince George’s County retailer located at 9400 Marlboro Pike will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
“Go Big or Go Home” won the fourth top prize in the Gold X20 game since the scratch-off went on sale on Jan. 23. Gold X20 is a member of a Gold Multiplier family of games and the Gold Multiplier second-chance promotion. Other members of the scratch-off family are the $1 Gold X5, $2 Gold X10 and $10 Gold X50 games. The scratch-off still has five unclaimed $50,000 prizes, eight $5,000 prizes and others ranging from $5 to $1,000.
