Loyal scratch-off player wins top prize playing Blizzard Bucks game
After a Delaware resident won a big scratch-off prize a few years ago, he decided to keep using the quarter that revealed his instant ticket win. The scratch-off fan was using that very same quarter when he found his $100,000 top prize on the Blizzard Bucks game.
“Ever since I won $1,000, I saved and kept using that quarter,” said the Bear, Delaware man. “It really has brought me luck.”
The 68-year-old was at home when he scratched off the $10 game and saw he won $100,000. He did not believe his eyes so he took the instant ticket to a Lottery retailer for confirmation. After he scanned the scratch-off with the ticket checker, he saw the big win was real.
“I was a bit excited when I realized it was a winner,” he recalled.
The lucky player, who works in the security field, plans to put all of his winnings in the bank.
He lives near the Maryland state line and crosses over often to purchase Lottery games. The lucky man purchased this winning scratch-off at Royal Farms #101on 1199 East Pulaski Highway in Elkton. The Cecil County retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off of $100,000.
Although it might appear that winter is almost over, a blizzard warning is still in place for Blizzard Bucks players. They could still win one of three unclaimed $100,000 top prizes. There are 19 unclaimed $10,000 prizes available along with others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
