Hyattsville man claims $50,000 Deluxe Crossword top prize
A Hyattsville scratch-off enthusiast visited Lottery headquarters this week to claim a $50,000 Deluxe Crossword scratch-off top prize.
The 47-year-old typically has a routine when playing the Lottery. He likes to buy three tickets at a time.
This particular time, he stopped by Shell Food Mart in Adelphi and purchased his three tickets. He scratched his tickets while still in the store, and knew right away that he was taking home a top-prize winner. He told Lottery officials that he just kept his cool and left the store.
Although the winner doesn’t have any definitive plans for his win, he says he may possibly take a vacation.
Shell Food Mart at 7430 Riggs Rd in Adelphi wins, too. They get to collect a $500 bonus for selling a winning scratch-of ticket worth $50,000.
