Lucky third-tier winning ticket sold in Wicomico County
Although no one hit the Mega Millions jackpot last night, Maryland had plenty of winners statewide including a player holding a $20,000 third-tier winning ticket bought in Fruitland.
Eagle Express Mart at 101 North Camden Avenue in Wicomico County sold the lucky ticket, which had the Megaplier feature added. In all, Maryland had 49,654 winners of prizes ranging from $2 to $20,000 in the Tuesday, March 19 drawing. Nationwide, the drawing produced more than 2.1 million winning tickets.
The winning numbers to match are 24, 46, 49, 62 and 66; the Mega Ball was 7 and the Megaplier was x2. The jackpot has rolled to an estimated annuity of $977 million for the Friday, March 22 drawing and an estimated cash option of $461 million.
This is the sixth largest Mega Millions jackpot ever, generating more than $3.2 million in prizes to players since the last jackpot was hit on Dec. 8, 2023. Estimated revenue to Maryland during this roll is $8.1 million. If the jackpot is won in Maryland on Friday, the state will receive an estimated $41.2 million in income taxes if the winner takes the cash option.
Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. They get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
