Initially, he just planned to go out and buy gas for his car, the Brooklyn Park winner said. On his way, however, he stopped at a nearby burger establishment for something to eat and shortly afterward won a $1 million scratch-off prize.
The Metro bus mechanic visited Red Sea Petroleum located at 101 West Patapsco Avenue in Baltimore to buy gas. After fueling his vehicle and filling his belly, the Anne Arundel County resident had an extra $20 to spare. He immediately spotted the Gold Rush 777 ticket. The loyal player wanted to simply just scan the scratch-off using the retailer’s ticket checker to see if he had won, but wasn’t sure how to proceed when he saw the scanner’s message to see the cashier. Before doing so, he decided to scratch off the entire instant ticket to try to spot his prize. That he did, revealing a number “7” symbol to win the corresponding $1 million. The lucky player did manage to keep his cool through all the excitement!
