Five lucky tickets win big in May drawing
An anonymous player from Montgomery County wound up with five Pick 5 tickets with the same number for the May 16 midday drawing. Was it a mistake or intentional? He didn’t say, but he did score a total of $250,000 in prizes.
The Bethesda resident played two $1 straight bets on each ticket for the May 16 midday and evening drawings, using 73195 for his lucky number. He found Lottery luck at the Giant grocery store located at 7142 Arlington Road in Bethesda.
His Pick 5 payday has been topped this year only by a Hyattsville man, who won $300,000 in May and equaled by a Manchester man, who won $250,000 playing Pick 5 in March. The largest Pick 5 prizes claimed on multiple tickets since the game began in 2022 were $1 million, $750,000 and $550,000.
For its role in selling the $50,000-winning Pick 5 tickets, the Montgomery County Giant earns a $500 bonus from the Lottery for each ticket. Its total bonus equals $2,500.
