Retired maintenance worker credits friend for talking him into trying Pick 5
A Southern Maryland man made the switch over to Pick 5 and won $50,000 on his fifth day of playing.
The retired maintenance worker explained he has been a loyal Pick 3 and Pick 4 player for years but a friend convinced him to start playing one more draw game.
“I thought I would give Pick 5 a try,” he said.
Then he selected his numbers and purchased a Midday and Evening drawing ticket for each day of that week. He was amazed when his numbers were drawn by the end of the week.
“My five digits came up within the first five days. It was crazy,” said the southern Anne Arundel County resident. “I had to get my wife to look at the ticket,” he said.
Since he purchased a $1 straight ticket, he will receive the top prize of $50,000.
According to the big winner, he plans to use his prize to pay off bills and might look into home renovations.
The winning ticket was sold at Lothian Mart at 5423 Southern Maryland Boulevard in Anne Arundel County. For selling the $50,000 prize, the Lothian retailer will receive a $500 bonus.
