Salisbury-area resident claims top prize on Ultimate Cash game
A Worcester County woman is enjoying the ultimate holiday season, thanks to a big Lottery payday. The lucky player only indulges in scratch-off fun when she receives instant tickets as holiday gifts from a family member. This year’s holiday gift is her most memorable because the scratch-off was a $100,000 top-prize winning Ultimate Cash instant ticket.
The family member bought the $10 game at Thirsty’s, which is located at 9534 Ocean Highway in Delmar.
On Christmas day, while her family was together playing their gifted scratch-offs, one instant ticket resulted in everyone screaming with excitement. The Salisbury-area resident matched the winning number 43 in the fourth of the game’s five rows for a $100,000 top prize.
“At first, I thought it was fake because my family jokes all the time,” the lucky woman recalled while at Lottery headquarters claiming the prize. Eventually, the reality of her win did set in.
The happy mom said she may indulge and splurge on some items but will put most of the funds into her children’s savings accounts. The teacher’s assistant, who hopes to become a teacher, said she enjoys spending her free time reading and being involved in youth sports.
The lucky Lottery retailer that sold the winning scratch-off, Thirsty’s, also gets a gift. The Wicomico County business receives a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off worth $100,000.
The Ultimate Cash instant ticket went on sale in June 2023 with eight top prizes. Five still remain along with three $50,000 prizes, 23 $10,000 prizes and others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
