Baltimore man claims top prize plus $15
A Maryland Lottery player trying his luck playing Bonus Match 5 on St. Patrick’s Day didn’t find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. However, he did find his ticket to good fortune.
The Baltimore man selected a lucky combination of numbers that matched the winning numbers in the March 17 drawing, giving him the game’s $50,000 top prize plus another $15.
The 67-year-old wagered just $6 playing nine sets of numbers. He let the terminal pick two sets of numbers and then played combinations of his own digits on the seven other lines. On March 17, the first line of his lucky numbers matched all five numbers drawn, winning the game’s top prize. In addition, several numbers on other lines matched the result and boosted his prize by $15.
The happy player bought his winning ticket at Goucher Exxon located at 800 Goucher Boulevard in Towson. St. Patrick’s Day was lucky for the gas and convenience store, too. For selling a top-prize winning ticket in the Bonus Match 5 game, Goucher Exxon earned a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
