Prince George County man plays his birthday digits and wins Pick 5 $50,000 top prize.
“Magic Touch” plans to use his prize to remodel mom’s bathroom
A Prince George’s County man is now $50,000 richer thanks to his birthday as it helped him win a Pick 5 top prize.
The retired federal worker, who is using the alias “Magic Touch”, said he has played his birthday digits for the past three years and was happy his persistence paid off.
“I couldn’t believe that number hit. I was very shocked and happy,” said the big winner.
He was sitting at home when he checked his tickets on his phone and saw his numbers were drawn.
The winner plans to use some of his prize to give his mother a gift.
“I want to get her bathroom done,” he said.
The Pick 5 player purchased the winning ticket at Modern Liquors at 2358 Iverson Street in Temple Hills. For selling the ticket, the Prince George’s County retailer will receive a bonus of $500 from the Lottery.
