Racetrax Player Celebrates Second Big Win of $46,849.50

“Double the Fun” claimed a $46,849.50 prize on a Racetrax Trifecta Wheel bet. It was his second big Racetrax win in three years.

Montgomery County man tops 2022 prize

A loyal Racetrax player who bets on the long-odds horses numbered 10, 11 and 12 in hopes of a big payday found success again this month.

The Montgomery County man’s routine has worked twice to bring in five-figure prizes. On March 6, he hit for $46,849.50 and in 2022 he won a little more than $30,000. The anonymous player, who is going by the nickname “Double the Fun” in recognition of his second win, said he was jumping up and down in the seat of his car after he checked his ticket for a win

Racetrax mirrors the multitude of betting options historically available at actual horse-racing venues. “Double the Fun” chose a Trifecta Wheel bet, predicting either horse 11 or 12 would finish first, horse 10 would finish second and either horse 11 or 12 would finish third.

It’s one of “Double the Fun’s” favorite bets, but he hasn’t had a horse in the race in the past year and a half when the right combination hit. Then on March 6, he was visiting Olney Beer & Wine at 18316 Village Center Drive in Olney when the mood to play struck him.

“I figured, I’m going to play it for one last time,” he told Lottery officials after claiming his prize. He got the 15-draw ticket, went to his car and, a few minutes later, his numbers came up – in a good way.

While tickled about the win, “Double the Fun” has no unusual plans for his windfall. He’ll sock a little into savings and share some of the prize with his daughter and grandchildren. A celebration involving seafood is on the horizon as well.

For its role in selling a winning Racetrax ticket of $10,000 or more, Olney Beer & Wine receives a Lottery bonus of $468.49, equal to 1% of the prize.
