An anonymous winner who became a Lottery enthusiast more than 10 years ago saw his fortunes reach new heights last month after he placed a Racetrax Superfecta Box bet. He won $38,121.90!
“I’ve always considered myself lucky,” said the seasoned player, who selected the nickname “Jay-C” to tell the story of his Lottery luck. “I’ve had many wins over the years, and I just enjoy the thrill of playing.”
Among “Jay-C’s” favorite games are Racetrax and Keno. The Anne Arundel County resident said he loves the excitement of the two games and wins often, which only deepens his enjoyment.
On the day his Racetrax horses gave him a remarkable payday, “Jay-C” was following his routine. He stopped by Crossroads Exxon in Pasadena to grab coffee and gas before work and added a few Racetrax tickets. His day was already lucky because he made his purchase during a Racetrax $6 for $5 promotion, which saved him $5 on his winning ticket.
As the day unfolded, he checked his tickets for a win using the Maryland Lottery mobile app and couldn’t believe his eyes.
His four horses — numbering 1, 10, 11 and 12 — had crossed the finish line together in one of his races. The loyal player had added the Bonus option to his ticket and that tripled the prize.
“I was in shock at the amount,” “Jay-C” recalled. “I’ve been playing for a long time, so winning this much feels like it was long overdue. It’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
When asked about his plans for the prize, “Jay-C” said, “Most of it will go into an investment account for my two kids.” As for the future of his Lottery play, “Jay-C” sees no reason to change his routine. “I enjoy it, and you’ve got to play to win,” he added with a smile.
