Retired factory worker won with two $1 straight bets and $.50 straight bet
A Randallstown man was a three-time winner in the Dec. 2 evening Pick 5 drawing, claiming a combined $125,000 prize.
The Baltimore County resident was checking the numbers on the Lottery app on his phone when he realized he had a perfect match.
“I was like, “Wow! I actually won it,’ ” he said.
The Pick 5 player scored two $50,000 prizes and one $25,000 win on his straight bets on the three tickets. He explained that he plays a $.50 straight bet ticket for every Pick 5 drawing but adds two $1 straight bets on Mondays and Fridays. Luckily for our winner, his numbers came out on a Monday.
The retired factory worker said he chooses his numbers based on a relative’s birthday. To show his gratitude, he is going to treat his family members with his prize.
“I am going to help my kids, grandchildren and use the rest to pay off my car,” he said with a smile.
The lucky tickets hailed from Liberty Wine & Spirits, located at 3526 Brenbrook Drive in Baltimore County. The Randallstown liquor store is also a big winner, receiving a $1,250 combined Lottery bonus for selling the three tickets.
