20X The Cash game brings big win to Southern Maryland player
A quick stop at a favorite restaurant led to a big Lottery win for a Charles County man. Last weekend, the scratch-off fan picked up a few games including a 20X The Cash instant ticket and won its $50,000 top prize.
After purchasing his games at Bubba’s Place in Newburg, the loyal player took the games home to play. The Southern Maryland resident likes to scratch the numbers first to see if he matches anything and will then reveal the prize below. He didn’t match any winning numbers, but he did reveal a 10X symbol and below it was a $5,000 prize.
“I just stared at the ticket, thinking, ‘This can’t be right,’” he told Lottery officials when he claimed the prize this week. “I had to go and show my wife.”
When she saw the prize, she was just as shocked, but also happy about the win. “It’s a great feeling,” she said, while sitting in the Winner’s Circle with her husband at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
They plan to celebrate with a special dinner and a vacation in the near future. The remainder of the winnings will go into their savings account.
Celebrating with the excited couple is Bubba’s Place, the Lottery retailer that sold the top-prize winning scratch-off. The store located at 15486 Rock Point Road in Charles County will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.
The 20X The Cash game went on sale in January with eight $50,000 top prizes; four remain. In addition, there are four $5,000 prizes left in the game as well as hundreds of thousands of prizes ranging from $5 to $1,000. The game is one of six members of the X The Cash scratch-off family and part of a second-chance promotion. Players can try to win $50,000 and $75,000 prizes by entering nonwinning X The Cash scratch-offs in two upcoming drawings this month and in July. Get details HERE.
