Player bought ticket Friday morning in Montgomery County
A lucky player just made Maryland Lottery FAST PLAY history, buying the third-largest winning ticket in a progressive jackpot game since FAST PLAY’s launch in February 2020.
State Line Market in Silver Spring sold a ticket worth $849,830 on Friday, April 15, in the FAST PLAY Hit the Jackpot game. This is the second time a jackpot-winning ticket has been sold in the $20 game, which has a progressive jackpot that starts at $250,000 and grows with the sale of each ticket until a jackpot-winner is sold. The first jackpot-winning ticket in Hit the Jackpot was sold Nov. 24, 2021 at Giant #194 in Annapolis with a prize of $786,946.
The prize on lucky the April 15 ticket is the third-largest ever in Maryland’s FAST PLAY instant-win games, following a pair of Diamond Mine tickets — a $2.6 million winner sold Oct. 21, 2021 by Pulaski Liquor Emporium in Baltimore and a $922,144 winner sold March 7, 2021 by Royal Farms #028 in Annapolis.
Lottery officials encourage the winner to sign the back of the ticket immediately and put it in a safe location. FAST PLAY winners have 182 days from the date the ticket was sold to claim prizes.
Also celebrating is Montgomery County’s State Line Market located at 7817 Eastern Avenue. The retailer earns a bonus of $849.83 from the Lottery for selling the lucky ticket. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize.
