Retired Federal Employee Pleasantly Surprised by $200,000 Scratch-Off Win

Waldorf man claims Ravens X10 top prize

A Waldorf man set out to buy his regular Powerball and scratch-off tickets expecting the same results as always. This time, though, things turned out differently as he walked away with a $200,000 Ravens X10 top-prize winner.

When asked what drew him to this particular ticket, the federal government retiree told Lottery officials that he likes to buy newer tickets. The Ravens X10 ticket, which launched in August and had eight remaining top prizes at the time, was a prime candidate for his scratch-off niche.

He scratched and scanned the ticket while still there in the store. He knew right away that he had won $200,000, but kept his cool. He then took the ticket home to show his wife.

The winner said he didn’t have any plans yet for his prize, and as long as he can spend time with his wife and family, he’s okay.

The lucky 7-Eleven store at 29969 Three Notch Road in Charlotte Hall will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling a top-prize winning instant ticket between $100,000 and $1 million.

Non-winning $10 Ravens X10 and $2 Ravens X2 scratch-offs can be entered into the 2024 Ravens second-chance promotion. Players can still win prizes such as $10,000 cash, Ravens season tickets or seats for 20 years. New this year is a chance to play Pass for Cash with former Ravens players or be named Fan of the Game and win cash for Ravens touchdowns at home games.
