Player is sixth progressive jackpot winner on Big Money Doubler game
A Montgomery County woman still can’t believe her eyes after claiming a progressive jackpot-winning prize of $96,903 on a FAST PLAY Big Money Doubler ticket.
“I thought something was wrong with the ticket,” she told Lottery officials, while claiming her prize with her husband by her side. “It wouldn’t be the first time I thought I won something different from what I really won.”
The Rockville resident purchased her ticket yesterday at the Safeway in Silver Spring. She looked at the $5 ticket while still in the store, but did not believe it was a big winner. Her husband said they wouldn’t really believe it until they had the check in their hands.
The retail worker has no real plans yet for the prize other than paying some bills.
The Safeway at 116 University Boulevard West will receive a $969.03 bonus for selling the ticket.
The game went on sale on Jan. 2, 2023 and this is the sixth progressive jackpot winner. The FAST PLAY Big Money Doubler game has a progressive jackpot that starts at $40,000 and grows with the sale of each ticket until a progressive jackpot-winning ticket is purchased. The game still has nine progressive jackpots remaining, along with instant-win prizes ranging from $10 to $5,000.
