A Baltimore County Realtor who spends his days on the road found that charting a course to a Lottery retailer was his passport to the land of good fortune. A Bonus Match 5 ticket he bought during his travels for the Oct. 3 drawing hit big, winning a $50,000 top prize!
The booming real estate market has kept Sean Smith on the road a lot. When the 49-year-old Pikesville resident is not at home taking care of his kids, he’s on the on the road making the dream of home ownership possible for clients.
“I’ve been everywhere. I’ve been to Gaithersburg, Chestertown, Edgewater, Crownsville – you name it,” Sean said.
The fan of Lottery games tries his luck wherever his work takes him. Sean will select a game at random and often plays a few lucky numbers. He purchased the lucky $2 Bonus Match 5 ticket on one of these trips, using a special combination of numbers based on addresses and birth dates.
Days after the drawing, his mother-in-law noticed some familiar numbers when she reviewed the daily Lottery results. She urged Sean to check his tickets if he had played his lucky numbers recently. Sure enough, those numbers were drawn on Oct. 3 — 3-7-21-24-38 — and won the game’s top prize.
Sean said he plans to use his winnings for necessities like paying bills and medical expenses, as well as for some family shopping trips.
The store that sold the top-prize winning ticket was Woodmoor Service Center located at 7100 Liberty Road in Gwynn Oak. For selling the lucky ticket, the store earned a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
