Scratch-off Win Inspires Correctional Officer to Try College Classes

Baltimore County resident claims $100,000 top prize on $100,000 Ca$h scratch-off

A Nottingham man is $100,000 richer after changing his Lottery routine. Playing mostly Keno every once in a while, he decided to switch things up with a scratch-off and landed a $100,000 top-prize winning $100,000 Ca$h instant ticket.

The Baltimore County resident bought two scratch-offs during a lucky visit to Golden Ring Liquors located at 8651 Philadelphia Road in Baltimore. While there, he scratched off his games to reveal their entire play area. He found a “win” symbol on the $100,000 Ca$h scratch-off, which gave him a $100,000 top prize.

“Happy” and “blessed” are the adjectives he chose to describe his feelings after his Lottery win. When he shared the news with his wife of 18 years, he recalls that she was just as pleased and excited. He’s worked as a correctional officer for more than a decade. The winner said he may use some of his windfall to pay for college courses. He and his wife love vacationing, too, so he may put some of his prize toward a nice vacation.

Golden Ring Liquors can also celebrate. The Baltimore County business gets to collect a $1,000 Lottery bonus for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off worth $100,000.

The $30 $100,000 Ca$h game went on sale in September 2023 with 65 $100,000 top prizes. There are still 51 top prizes remaining, along with others ranging from $30 to $5,000.
