Silver Spring Man Lands on $50,000 MONOPOLY X100 Prize

Scratch-off ticket delivers big prize for Lottery fan

A lucky Silver Spring man who enjoys a variety of Maryland Lottery games may be partial to scratch-offs for a while after a recent visit to a local retailer.

Sometimes he chooses to play Keno or Pick 3, but it was a MONOPOLY X100 ticket that delivered a $50,000 prize.

The Montgomery County man was at Old World Favorites located at 3854 International Drive in Silver Spring when he bought three of the $20 tickets. While the first two weren’t winners, the third ticket fittingly included a number 3 on the second-to-last row of the play area. That matched one of the Winning Numbers at the top of the ticket, and when he scratched off the corresponding prize amount, he got a $50,000 surprise.

The happy winner said he’s still taking it all in and hasn’t made any plans for the prize money.

MONOPOLY X100 is one of six Monopoly-themed Maryland Lottery scratch-offs currently available. Five of the game’s $1 million top prizes remain unclaimed as of April 1, along with three more $50,000 second-tier prizes, 10 prizes of $10,000 and thousands of additional prizes ranging from $20 to $5,000.

The six MONOPOLY tickets are licensed by Scientific Games, LLC. All non-winning Monopoly tickets are eligible for entry into the MONOPOLY Second-Chance Promotion for a chance to win a rolling cash jackpot or cash prizes. Six monthly drawings from February to July will award $5,000 prizes and rolling cash jackpots that start at $10,000 and grow until the drawing date.
