Spare $20 Leads to Player’s $100,000 Scratch-Off Win

Washington County woman claims top prize on Gold Rush 7s Multiplier game

She’s not a regular player, the Washington County woman said, but if the moment is right, she will indulge in some Maryland Lottery scratch-off fun. She recently had an extra $20 to spare and purchased two random scratch-offs, one of which was a Gold Rush 7s Multiplier instant ticket. That $10 game delivered a $100,000 top prize.

The player bought the scratch-off at AC&T located at 22507 Jefferson Boulevard in Smithsburg. She decided to try her luck because, in addition to having $20 to spare, the retailer was along her route.

The Western Maryland winner couldn’t believe what she was seeing as she scratched off the Gold Rush 7s Multiplier instant ticket. First, she revealed a match with the winning number 15 and then discovered the corresponding $100,000 prize. She plans to put the windfall into her savings account for now.

AC&T also benefits from her top-prize win. The Washington County store will receive a $1,000 Lottery bonus for selling a $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.

The Gold Rush 7s Multiplier instant ticket is a member of the Gold Rush family of scratch-off games. Five of the six Gold Rush games went on sale in May, with the $30 $2,000,000 Gold Rush game arriving in February. There are still five top prizes of $100,000 remaining in this game, along with 24 $10,000 second-tier prizes and others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
