Wins top prize on Bonus Match 5 ticket
On Tuesday, a Baltimore County man’s morning took an exciting turn when he discovered he’d won a $50,000 Bonus Match 5 top prize.
The big winner, Mike, has been playing the Lottery for over 20 years. On Oct. 14, he headed to his favorite Lottery retailer to buy tickets after work. The next morning, he checked his tickets on the My Lottery Rewards app. To his surprise, he received a message that read, “See retailer,” complete with animated confetti on his screen. Mike knew he had won a substantial amount.
“I went to Edgemere Convenience, and the manager started to check my ticket. Then she said, ‘Congratulations! You’ve won $50,000!’”
Mike rushed home to share the news with his wife. He remained calm, but felt a jolt of excitement once the news that his dream was now a reality settled in.
When asked what he plans to do with his windfall, Mike told Lottery officials he’s going to pay off his vehicle and settle bills. Anything left over will go into the couple’s savings account.
Mike isn’t the only winner. Edgemere Convenience at 7308 North Point Road in Baltimore will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
