Prince George’s County resident planning to put windfall in the bank
The Pick 5 fan said he typically plays personal sets of numbers, such as his birthday or license plate digits, when he tries his luck with a $1 straight bet in the daily game. However, on Oct. 19, he played a number from the 1970s that had personal significance and that number won a $50,000 prize.
“I am glad it made me a winner,” the Prince George’s County man said with a smile.
The Hyattsville resident was home checking his tickets when he learned he won $50,000 in the Oct. 19 evening drawing.
“I was excited but not too excited. I was able to keep cool,” said the big winner. The retired engineer said he plans to put his prize into the bank.
He purchased the winning ticket at Crown Liquors, which is located at 6579 Ager Road in Hyattsville. For selling the ticket, the Prince George’s County retailer receives a $500 Lottery bonus.
