Lucky Baltimore resident finds top-prize winning instant ticket at grocery store
A Maryland Lottery scratch-off fan from Baltimore who recently bought two non-winning scratch-offs wasn’t discouraged in her search for Lottery luck. With an additional $10 to spare, the 58-year-old bought a $5 MONOPOLY™ X20 instant ticket.
The city resident was shopping at Weis Market #86 in Baltimore when she made her fortunate purchase. The teacher’s assistant often visits the grocery located at 165 Orville Road in Baltimore to play her favorite Lottery games. She initially thought the scratch-off was a $5,000 winner until she revealed a few more numbers. The avid player then became ecstatic when she realized she won a $50,000 top prize.
“I was in shock,” the happy winner said. “It’s a great time to win,” she added, explaining that her income is limited when the school year ends.
The lucky lady plans to use her prize to pay off some bills, take a small vacation and give a little to her children. She isn’t the only winner, either. For selling the $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off, Weis Markets #86 will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
The $5 MONOPOLY™ X20 scratch-off game launched on Jan. 17, 2022, and is part of the MONOPOLY Second-Chance Promotion from the Maryland Lottery. The following scratch-offs joined the $10 ticket: $1 MONOPOLY X5, $2 MONOPOLY X10 and $10 MONOPOLY X50. In addition, two FAST PLAY games were introduced: $3 MONOPOLY Game Tokens and $20 MONOPOLY Properties.
Players can enter any non-winning MONOPOLY™ scratch-offs and winning or non-winning FAST PLAY MONOPOLY™ tickets into My Lottery Rewards for a chance to win cash prizes. There are six drawings, with each drawing awarding one Rolling Cash Jackpot and ten $2,500 prizes.
