Lottery wins last week totaled nearly $30.3 million, with 26 tickets worth $10,000 or more

The Powerball jackpot climbed to $461 million for tonight’s drawing, and an Eastern Shore player matched four white balls plus the Powerball number last week, with a bonus, and now has a ticket worth $100,000.

That was one of three $100,000 Maryland Lottery prizes in the past week, with the other two coming on scratch-off games purchased in Baltimore and Lanham.

No one has matched all six Powerball numbers since the Jan. 18 drawing, when a player in Oregon hit the jackpot on a drawing with an annuity value of $328.5. In the intervening months, seven players in Maryland have hit for third tier prizes ranging from $50,000 to $100,000.

The next Powerball drawing is this evening (March 24), with an estimated jackpot of $461 million, and a cash option of $217.2 million.

Across Maryland, and across all games, the Lottery paid nearly $30.3 million in prizes during the week of March 17-23, including 26 tickets worth $10,000 or more that were sold or redeemed in that seven-day span.

Winners are encouraged to sign the backs of tickets and keep winning tickets in a safe location. Tickets for draw games expire 182 days after the drawing. FAST PLAY tickets expire 182 days after purchase. The last date to claim for scratch-offs is posted on the scratch-offs page.

Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at the cashier window of any of the six casinos in Maryland. Prizes up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations.
