The Week in Winners: Scratch-off Sold in Severn Makes New Maryland Lottery Millionaire

Lottery prizes last week total more than $30.4 million, with 18 tickets worth $10,000 or more

A Maryland Lottery player in Severn is a millionaire, thanks to a $20 scratch-off ticket, while three other tickets sold in Laurel, Salisbury and Temple Hills each paid six-digit prizes last week.

Across Maryland, the Lottery paid more than $30.4 million in prizes during the seven-day period ending Sept. 15, including 18 tickets worth $10,000 or more that were sold or redeemed during that span.

Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem their tickets at cashiers’ windows at Maryland casinos or at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes of up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations. All Maryland Lottery retailers are authorized to redeem tickets up to and including $600. More information is available on the How To Claim page of mdlottery.com.
