Players across Maryland won more than $28.7 million during week ending Jan. 23
The Mega Millions jackpot is rolling, and one Maryland Lottery player in Severn won a $1 million second-tier prize in the national jackpot game last week. Meanwhile, five Maryland Lottery scratch-off players landed $100,000 wins on tickets purchased in Berlin, Clinton, Dundalk, Forestville and Takoma Park.
With no jackpot winner in the Jan. 21 Mega Millions drawing, the jackpot for the next drawing on Jan. 25 rolled to an estimated annuity value of $396 million, with an estimated cash option of $273.6 million.
In all, 25 players across the state won or claimed prizes of $10,000 or more, and the Lottery paid more than $28.7 million in prizes in the seven days ending Jan. 23.
Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem their tickets at the Maryland Lottery Claims Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes of up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations.
