The Week in Winners: Takoma Park Ticket Wins $100,000, Big Spin Wheel Lands on $60,000

Lottery prizes last week totaled nearly $27.3 million, with 22 tickets worth $10,000 or more

A Maryland Lottery player in Takoma Park won the week’s largest prize, claiming a  $100,000 win on a scratch-off ticket. Meanwhile, the latest winner to give The Big Spin Wheel a whirl landed $60,000, and other players in Catonsville, Hanover, Hyattsville, Pasadena and Sykesville each won $50,000 on a variety of games, all in the past week.

Across the state, the Lottery paid nearly $27.3 million in prizes during the week of Sept. 30-Oct. 6, including 22 tickets worth $10,000 or more that were sold or redeemed in that seven-day span.

Winners are encouraged to sign the backs of tickets and keep winning tickets in a safe location. Tickets for draw games expire 182 days after the drawing. FAST PLAY tickets expire 182 days after their purchase date. The last date to claim for scratch-offs is on game’s tile on the scratch-off page.

Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem their tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at the cashier’s windows at any of Maryland’s six casinos. Prizes of up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations.
