Washington, D.C. resident Victoria Calloway plans to help the homeless community with her $50,000 prize.
Helpful store clerk suggested she play the $5 game
Victoria Calloway is still in shock after winning a $50,000 top prize on a FAMILY FEUD® scratch-off.
The Washington, D.C. resident explained that she was at home and made the discovery after she scratched off the $5 instant ticket.
“It was so unbelievable and unexpected. I can’t believe I won,” she told Lottery officials after claiming her prize. At that moment, Victoria decided she needed to confirm her win so she returned to DMV Convenience and Wireless in Temple Hills, where she purchased the lucky ticket.
The clerk at the store who confirmed her win was the same person she credits for bringing Lottery luck her way. “I didn’t know what game to play. He told me to play the FAMILY FEUD game,” Victoria explained.
The Prince George’s County store located at 3173 Branch Avenue will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.
The 50-year-old winner is a case manager for a homeless community. She plans to use some of the prize for outreach activities.
Victoria is the seventh top-prize winner in the FAMILY FEUD game, which went on sale on April 18, 2022. Three $50,000 prizes remain along with one $5,000 prize and others ranging from $5 to $1,000.
