Windsor Mill Woman’s $50,000 Lottery Score “a Blessing”

Hot instant ticket purchased at BP station in same community

A Baltimore County resident who claimed her $50,000 prize on a Maryland Lottery scratch-off this week said she is keeping the win a closely held secret. She has no plans to celebrate or do anything out of the ordinary to avoid tipping people off to her top-prize win on the Deluxe Crossword 9th Edition instant ticket.

With her newfound fortune, she plans to square up her finances and help out family members to the best of her ability. She enjoys playing Lottery games because of the anticipation of the prospect of a win and plans to continue playing them going forward.

“It’s like a hobby. I don’t do anything else,” she said. Of the win, the Windsor Mill woman noted, “It’s a blessing. I look at it like that.”

She won on the $5 game that went on sale in September 2024 with a total of eight prizes at the $50,000 level. The windfall was the third top prize claimed, leaving another five still available. The game also has eight remaining $10,000 prizes and 26 at the $1,000 level, as well as thousands of other smaller prizes.

The winner bought her instant ticket at Windsor Mill BP, which is located at 2202 North Rolling Road in Windsor Mill. For selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off, the Baltimore County business receives a Lottery bonus of $500.
