Keno
How to Play

Visit a Maryland Lottery Retailer

You must be 18 years old or older to buy or cash Keno tickets.

Provide the Maryland Lottery retailer with your playslip or use a self-service terminal to manually select your numbers or select “quick pick.” Before you use your playslip, be sure to verify that the numbers selected on your playslip are the numbers you want to play.

With classic Keno, you have the chance to win $100,000 on a single dollar play! It’s easy. Simply complete your Keno playslip using these five steps:

Step 1: Decide how many numbers (spots), from one to ten, you want to play per game.

Step 2: Decide how much to wager, from $1 to $20, per game.

Step 3: Choose your own numbers, or select “Quick Pick” and let the computer select numbers for you.

Step 4: Decide how many consecutive games, from one to 20, you want to play.

Step 5: If you want to play Bonus or Super Bonus, (you may select only one) select “Yes” on your playslip for the bonus option you want to play and have the chance to multiply your winnings on every game on your ticket. You must play Keno if you want to play Bonus or Super Bonus. Multiply the dollar amount you want to wager per game times the number of consecutive games you want to play to determine the total cost of the ticket.

Give your completed playslip and wager amount to a Maryland Lottery® retailer to receive an official game ticket. To see if you’ve won, watch your game(s) on a Keno monitor (located at most Maryland Lottery® retailer locations), check your numbers at any retailer using the Quick Check machine, or go to mdlottery.com® and click on the Keno logo. If your ticket wins before all consecutive games have been played, you may present it to your Maryland Lottery® retailer to receive your winnings along with an exchange ticket good for your remaining games.

$100 is the maximum Keno wager per playslip.
$200 is the maximum Keno wager per playslip when the Bonus option is selected.
$300 is the maximum Keno wager per playslip when the Super Bonus option is selected.

Now you can enjoy the fun and excitement of Keno — for just $.25 per game — when you buy a Packaged Keno To Go (PKTG) ticket at any Maryland Lottery® retailer. Play Packaged Keno To Go when, where and how you want — for less! PKTG is always just $.25 per game, and each game gives you a chance to win up to $25,000! You can buy PKTG in 20-, 40-, 60-, 80- or 100-game tickets. A 100-game ticket can give you more than six hours of entertainment. You must use a PKTG playslip if you want to play PKTG. It’s easy! Simply complete your PKTG playslip using these four steps:

Step 1: Choose the number of consecutive games you want to play:

20 games for $5
40 games for $10
60 games for $15
80 games for $20
100 games for $25

Step 2: Choose how many numbers (spots), from one to 10, you want to play per game.

Step 3: Choose your own numbers or select “Quick Pick” and let the computer choose your numbers for you. Each of the games on your PKTG ticket will have the same numbers.

Step 4: If you would like to play Bonus or Super Bonus, (you may select only one) select “Yes” on your playslip for the bonus option you want to play and have the chance to multiply your winnings on every game. You must play PKTG in order to play Bonus or Super Bonus.

Give your completed PKTG playslip and wager to your Maryland Lottery® retailer to receive an official game ticket. Then, you can watch the results of your PKTG games where and when you choose — at most retailer locations, from the comfort of your own home or anywhere you have a computer with Internet access. You can also check your numbers at any retailer using the Quick Check machine or go to mdlottery.com® and click on the Keno logo.

Bonus is a feature of Keno and PKTG that gives you a chance to multiply your Keno and PKTG winnings by up to ten times the original amount. Bonus can be added for the same amount that you wagered on your Keno or PKTG game. For example, with classic Keno, if you wager $1, your Bonus cost is an additional $1, making the total ticket cost $2. If you are playing PKTG, the amount of your Bonus wager equals the amount of your PKTG wager. For example, if you choose a $5 PKTG ticket, your Bonus cost is an additional $5, for a total ticket cost of $10.

The Bonus wheel will appear on the monitor just before each drawing. The Bonus wheel spins and stops to reveal which multiplier, if any, applies to the next Keno and PKTG game. Possible multipliers are three, four, five and ten. If your ticket is a winner for that game, multiply the amount you won by the multiplier that appeared on the Bonus wheel to determine the total amount of your winnings. For example, if you win $5 and the multiplier for that game is three, then you collect $15. If the multiplier is four, you collect $20, and so on.

Super Bonus is like regular Bonus, only better, because it guarantees both that if you win, your winnings will be multiplied, and also that your multiplier will be higher than the regular Bonus multiplier. Playing Super Bonus gives you the chance to multiply your winnings by up to 20 times and guarantees you will at least double your regular Keno/PKTG payout when you win.

The amount of your Super Bonus wager is twice the amount of your game wager. For example, if you wager $4 on classic Keno, your Super Bonus wager is an additional $8, making your total ticket cost $12. With PKTG, if you choose a $10 PKTG ticket, your Super Bonus cost is an additional $20, for a total ticket cost of $30.

The Super Bonus wheel, the outer layer of numbers on the Bonus wheel, will appear on the monitor just before each drawing. The Super Bonus wheel spins and stops to reveal which multiplier applies to the next Keno/PKTG game. Your winnings are guaranteed to increase when you choose Super Bonus. Possible multipliers are two, three, four, five, six, ten, 12 and 20. If your ticket is a winner for that game, multiply the amount you won by the multiplier that appeared on the Super Bonus wheel to determine the total amount of your winnings.

$1,000,000 is the liability cap when playing a 10-spot for any Keno game (including Keno and/or PKTG) when a Bonus multiplier of ten is won. This means that there is only one $1,000,000 prize per drawing that can be won when playing the Keno/PKTG 10-spot with a Bonus multiplier of ten, and in the unlikely event the combination of all prizes for Keno/PKTG winners of a 10-spot with a Bonus ten multiplier exceeds $1,000,000, then the $1,000,000 will be divided proportionately among those Keno and/or PKTG winners based on the amount wagered for that game.

$2,000,000 is the liability cap when playing a 10-spot for any Keno game (including Keno and/or PKTG ) when a Super Bonus multiplier of 20 is won. This means that there is only one $2,000,000 prize per drawing that can be won when playing the Keno/PKTG 10-spot with a Super Bonus multiplier of 20, and in the unlikely event the combination for all prizes for Keno and PKTG winners of a 10-spot with a Super Bonus 20 multiplier exceeds $2,000,000, then the $2,000,000 will be divided proportionately among those Keno and/or PKTG winners based on the amount wagered for that game.

$3,000,000 is the combined liability cap when playing a 10-spot for any Keno game (including Keno and PKTG) when a Bonus multiplier of ten is won and when a Super Bonus multiplier of 20 is won in the same drawing. If there is only one winning ticket in each category, Bonus and Super Bonus, then those two tickets will pay the maximum payout amount per drawing when playing the Keno/PKTG 10-spot; but in the unlikely event the combination of all prizes (Keno, Keno with Bonus, Keno with Super Bonus, PKTG, PKTG with Bonus and PKTG with Super Bonus), exceeds $3,000,000, this amount will be divided proportionately among all winners, based on the amount wagered for that game and the Bonus option, if any are selected.
